The Australian Edward VII threepence was a one year issue minted at the Royal Mint, London and does not include any mint marks. The first threepence shipment actually arrived in Australia after the death of the monarch. Interestingly the designer of the obverse, George Saules had died in 1904, 6 years before the introduction of coinage to Australia.
There are no known varieties of the 1910 Australian Threepence. The obverse is usually weakly struck with the portrait showing few features. The obverse displays 121 rim denticles while the reverse displays 117 denticles. The Edward VII three pence is quite common in high grades and usually can be found for prices cheaper than any of the George V three pence in similar condition. Where possible it is recommended to collect this coin in UNC grade or better.
